This beauty advertising video featuring Teodora was created using a series of still photographs. It was shot in a private home in Milan, Italy. Natural window light was used throughout. While browsing through some images, I came across two or three striking shots of Teodora that seemed to work well together. That discovery sparked the idea to make a video using those and other complementary frames.
Teodora had nearly flawless skin and moved beautifully in front of the camera. A model’s ability to connect with the lens is a subtle mix of self-assurance, comfort with the photographer, how they respond to direction, and that special quality of being able to “project” something beyond the frame.
Contrary to popular belief, modeling isn’t easy. Great models make it look effortless, but behind that grace is a real energy, an ability to move with intention and fluidity. Only skilled or gifted models can truly pull this off.
The space we worked in was quite small, with limited natural light from modest windows, so the shoot took place under fairly constrained conditions.
