About the Video

This advertising Beauty project was shot in a private home near Atlanta, GA. The hard part was getting the light as close to the model as we could without having the light so bright she could not keep her eyes open. The problem is when shooting really close (The extreme close up of the eye) the depth of field (How much is in focus) all but disappears One way to solve this problem is to have a LOT of light. Not a real problem when shooting strobe, but a real issue when using continuous light, like in video.

The Gear:
A Canon camera using 320 to 1250 ISO using
Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens or a
Sigma 85mm f1.4 lens all attached to a
Sachtler fluid head sitting on a
Gitzo CF tripod. 

The Light:
Daylight through a French door and for the extreme close up shots a
Lowel 1000 watt light fixture inside a
Chimera extra small softbox using a 1/4 stop white diffusion panel.

We are based in Atlanta, Georgia, New York City, USA & Milan, Italy, and serve the nation and travel worldwide for projects, both video and stills. On average we travel 175 days a year from all over the USA, 48 out of 50 states, to Singapore to Japan, Europe and the Middle East. We are normally in Europe 2 or 3 times a year, mostly Italy and Germany, shooting for clients there.
