About the image
This was shot in heavy snow in Eagle, Colorado.
This image started life as a snapshot just off of US 6 just east of Eagle, Colorado. About 10pm on Christmas eve I thought to create "Something" for Christmas Instagram. I spent about an hour going through photos of trees and snow. I did not want the Christmas tree to be the central element, I wanted it to be subtle. After finding the image I wanted to start with, that alone took an hour, I started to work on the image in earnest.
By the time I determined the size of the brush for the lights and painting them in, reworking the photo to give it some life on its own, adding more snow, putting a blur on the lights and cross, I finally finished the image at 3am.
