By understanding
color, the different color channels, adjustment layers
and masks I can convert almost any color image into stunning B &W.
All of the B&W images started out a color mage.

This is what one will get if in Photoshop you click the "Grayscale" mode menu item. It is a general "one Size Fits All" percentage of different colors. For my tastes it fits nothing and certainly not all. |

In this image I have converted the color image into 4 layers. All of the layers are the same image but represent 3 different colors PLUS the "One Size Fits All" B&W conversion. By adjusting the opacities of the layers & adding masks to one or more of the layers I wound up with this image. The skin is bright & smooth, the shirts pop and the background is darker drawing attention to the hats, who my client makes and is important to them. |

In this image I have added a color adjustment layer and added a cream color. |
